We investigate the spatial distribution of air pollutants in Japan, South Korea, and China for the year 2021. Our analysis utilizes satel-lite data on fine particulate matter at the municipal/county level, along with population density, vegetation difference, and night lights. Using dependence analysis and a clustering method to classify munic-ipalities and counties based on geographical and similar attributes, we delineate distinct clusters within each country. Furthermore, through this spatial examination, we identify consistent positive correlations between air pollution and economic activity in each country. These methods allow us to detect areas where targeted policies can effectively enhance air quality for the population.
