タイトル：「Experiences and Challenges of Regional Industrial Policies in Korea」

概要：
Before 1999, industrial location policies were important to develop regional communities and local industrial policies have been played an important role afterward. During the past 15 years, techno-parks and regional specialization centers were founded in result of regional industrial policies. But lack of consistency in goals, programs and targets of policy has been raised as a problem. The goals and strategies of regional industrial policies can be diverse by viewpoints of the region and the industry. In this report, the region and the industry should be regarded relatively independent areas in messo level. In this way, the goals of regional industrial policies need to focus on competitiveness, and the strategies should be made in regards of endogenous growth. Local governments should be main actors and fostering the participation of private sector is also needed.
