『Sustainability of the public debt, wealth inequality, and a redistributive tax on bequests』

This paper investigates the correlation between wealth inequality and sustain-
ability of public debt in an endogenous growth model with heterogeneous agents.
We show that the threshold for the sustainability of government budget de cits can
be related to not only relative size of public debt but also wealth inequality. The
threshold level of public debt is increasing in wealth inequality. If the initial public
debt exceeds the threshold, both public debt and wealth inequality grow too much
to sustain budget de cits, while if it does not exceed the threshold, both public
debt ratio and wealth inequality converge on the stable steady state. This paper
also demonstrates that a redistributive tax on the richer agents’ bequests may not be
preferable because it increases the risk of unsustainable government budget de cits
much while its effect on reducing inequality in the stable steady state is little.

『デマンドレスポンス社会実証の経済分析』

電力需給の逼迫や電力系統の不安定が生じたとき、電気料金を高く設定したり、
電気使用量を抑制した需要家に対し協力金を支払うなどの手段を用いて
電力需要の平準化を図るデマンド・レスポンスが注目されている。
北九州市では2012年度から2014年度の間、北九州スマートコミュニティ創造事業の1つ
であるダイナミックプライシング社会実証が行われた。この社会実証では1日の電力需要が
ピークになる時間帯の電気料金を上げることで、どれだけ電力需要が抑制されるのかを検証した。
今回のセミナーでは北九州における社会実証の設計、その分析結果について報告する。
